摘要:: The article presents data on prevalence of urological cancer in Kalmykia by environmental zones and among males and females. In 1998 urological cancer accounted for 18.6% of all cancer cases. Urinary system cancer occurred in 6.8% of all cancer cases in the republic in 1997, prostatic cancer was encountered in 31.7%. In the recent decade prostatic cancer morbidity has risen from 6.9 to 16.9 per 100000, while the rate of advanced cases of urological cancer decreased. Transrectal ultrasonic investigation, puncture biopsy of the prostate, assay for PSA are among available diagnostic methods.
